Prototypes & Iterations
Quick, clean-finished prints for testing form, fit, and design direction before committing to a final material.
PLA is our default material for prototypes and parts used for general purposes. It prints cleanly, produces little odour and is available in far more finishes and fill effects than we normally keep on hand. Beyond the standard spool, we can source specialised PLA blends for texture, appearance or added functionality.

PLA is rigid, easy to print to a clean finish and available in the widest range of colours and speciality effects of any material we offer. It is not intended for sustained heat, heavy loading or outdoor exposure.

Architectural models, presentation pieces, and collectibles where appearance matters more than mechanical load.
Alignment guides and light-duty tooling that doesn't need to survive heat or heavy mechanical stress.
Clear, economical models for classrooms, exhibitions, and explaining mechanisms or product concepts.
PLA is rigid and prints to a high dimensional accuracy and clean surface finish, holding fine detail well. It's not the material for parts that will see sustained heat, mechanical stress, or outdoor exposure. For those applications, we would typically recommend PETG, ABS, or an engineering-grade polymer instead. Within the PLA family itself, the variant chosen changes the outcome: Silk and Marble finishes are purely cosmetic, Wood-fill and Metal-fill add texture and mass, Carbon-fibre adds stiffness, and ESD-safe or antibacterial grades serve specific functional requirements.
